This session will be a mix of presentation and demos which will introduce GitHub Advanced Security, answer frequently asked questions and provide resources to get started.

Learn about GitHub's Advanced Security features, including its native, integrated, dev-first approach to security. We'll cover why it's important to shift security left, and dive into specific features such as supply chain security, code scanning, and secret scanning. The session will include a demo and Q&A to help you better understand how to leverage these powerful security tools.

1:30pm - 3:30pm Workshop: Hands on with GitHub Copilot
Target Audience: Software developers of any skill level (Junior to advanced)

During this session, we will look at the generative code capabilities available today as well as the advanced chat capabilities currently in technical preview. You'll also see how to maximise the benefits of GitHub Copilot to;
- Utilise code suggestions to complete code faster
- Understand code more easily using natural language
- Convert code between different languages
- Detection and remediate security vulnerabilities
- Detect and propose fixes for code defects
- Generation unit tests
- Refactor code and increase maintainability
