GitHub Fund, in partnership with M12—Microsoft’s venture capital fund—started with a $10 million commitment to invest in eight to ten companies each year.
What projects qualify for the GitHub Fund?
Our investment focus will be on open source developer tools in their early stages. We also focus on AI, security, infrastructure, and DevOps and are excited by the generative AI, LLM, AI-powered developer tools, and security trends we’re seeing.
What stage does GitHub Fund typically invest in?
We invest in pre-seed and seed stages. By partnering with companies early, we can support founders as the roots of their community form and their products take shape.
Is the investment dilutive?
