November 20, 2020

Modern businesses run on ones and zeros. Businesses in every industry are transforming the customer experience into a digital-first medium—adding a competitive edge and new security challenges.

Join us for our Learning Fridays: a step-by-step look at all things application security. In three interactive sessions, we’ll cover the current state of application security and recommend sustainable solutions to overcome some common problems in this space. We’ll also share GitHub’s experience in securing software—and would love to hear yours.

When

  • November 20, 11:00-12:00 CET
Part one: Why are we still shipping applications with security issues?
Application security leverages a system of tools, processes, and best practices to manage application-related business risk. In this session, we’ll discuss different application security maturity levels, tooling, capabilities, and the shortcomings of traditional approaches.
  • November 27, 11:00-12:00 CET
Part two: Improving application security with an end-to-end approach
Together we’ll take a look at two common application security models: security as a gate and end-to-end security approach. We’ll discuss the benefits of these approaches and the issues you may experience with each.
  • December 4, 11:00-12:00 CET
Part three: Overcoming challenges with developer-first application security
Finally, we’ll discover a developer-first, community-powered application security model which can help overcome most of the challenges in developing secure applications.
