Annie Mathew - Director, Developer Relations Microsoft APAC

Annie Mathew is an advocate for a more inclusive and humane tech industry. She is Director Developer Relations and Digital Natives at Microsoft Asia Pacific with the mission of empowering developers and startups to achieve more. She leads Microsoft’s Code Without Barriers program with industry and open source community partnerships that aim to help close the gender gap in cloud and AI industry.

With a background in engineering and management her career expands across several industries including Manufacturing, Consumer electronics, Healthcare, and Software products. She has received the Chief Minister’s recognition for her work with the startup ecosystem and was nominated for Sthree Shakthi award for women in Science and Technology in her home state in India. Annie likes to challenge the status quo, she was the first woman president of HIMSS India, a founding board member of Startup Village and guide to the first Forbes Ignite Impact fellowship for women in AI.

Annie lives in Singapore and enjoys reading, radio and travel.

Michelle Mannering, Developer Advocate at GitHub

Known as the “Hackathon Queen” Michelle Mannering (Mish) is a Developer Advocate at GitHub. As part of the DevRel team, Mish listens to the community to understand and provide people with the tools and resources to succeed at open source. Mish is passionate about collaboration as a crucial area of DevOps and has presented at many international and local conferences, including NDC, DDD, Code Europe and more (and that’s just in 2022!)

Mish has also been the recipient of the Pause Super Connector Award (2020 & 2021), DELL Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2019), DELL Social Media Influencer of the Year (2019), Telstra Business Woman of the Year Finalist (2019), and Finalist Esports personality of the year (2018).

Dr. Bimlesh Wadhwa Associate Professor & Assistant Dean (Student Life) at National University of Singapore

Dr. Bimlesh Wadhwa is an Associate Professor & Assistant Dean (Student Life) in the School of Computing at NUS. Her research and teaching interests include software engineering, interaction design, information visualization, and computing education. Her current projects include understanding the ways in which digital technologies are detrimental to our well-being. Previously she has worked on gender issues in human-computer interaction, user modeling, and evaluation of health applications, and improving the quality of software design models.

Dr. Akshay Narayan, Lecturer (Educator Track) at National University of Singapore

Dr. Akshay Narayan is a Lecturer in the School of Computing at NUS. His research is in AI planning, sequential decision making, and its applications to multi-agent systems. His current projects focus on improving class engagement, peer learning, and peer feedback in large classes. He teaches introductory and intermediate Software Engineering courses to undergraduate and continuing education students and AI Planning to senior undergraduate and graduate students. Previously he has worked in cloud computing and cloud workload management related projects. Many eons ago, he worked on storage technologies in NetApp.

Johnny Shollaj, Research Engineer at National University of Singapore

Johnny Shollaj is an Analytics professional with more than 4 years of experience transforming businesses by utilizing technological innovations to improve business operations. The primary industries revolve around Consulting, Deep Tech, and Digital Marketing - in companies such as PwC, EY, SmartUP, and NUS.

Thor Schaeff, DevRel & DX at Supabase

Thor is a Software Developer, Startup Advisor, and Angel Investor. Having grown up around the SAP headquarters in Germany, he started building websites back in high-school, later studied Computer Science and Media, and interned with Google in London. He joined early Stripe in Dublin, building out various user-facing engineering teams across Europe and Southeast Asia, contributing to open-source software and mentoring and investing in early stage startups along the way.

Now settled in sunny Singapore, Thor heads up DevRel & DX at Supabase, helping developers of different backgrounds and skill levels build awesome applications on mobile and web.

Shawn Wang, Head of Developer Experience at Airbyte

Shawn Wang has worked on React and serverless JavaScript at Two Sigma, Netlify and AWS, and most recently as Head of Developer Experience at Temporal.io. He has started and run communities for hundreds of thousands of developers, like Svelte Society, /r/reactjs, and the React TypeScript Cheatsheet. His nontechnical writing was recently published in the Coding Career Handbook for Junior to Senior developers.
